Artist's Statement The rich colors of clay and dried grasses against the power of a cloudy sky, a contrast both in color and texture. My heart is in landscape. I love the wide expanse of sky and the way the hills fold over each other like wedging clay. The way the land rolls back in the space and then opens up into a curtain of sky. Be it travel abroad or a walk through a neighborhood park, for me, a large component of travelling is collecting stories and images to share upon my return. Katherine G Rickman 1/28/02
